From the N3 heading in to Durban, take the Tollgate Bridge fly off. At the traffic light, turn RIGHT onto Tollgate Bridge. You are now on Mazisi Kunene Road (old South Ridge Road) which eventually comes out at the Main Gates of the Howard College Campus of the University of KwaZulu-Natal (travel from Tollgate Bridge for about 2 km). Travel all the way along South Ridge Road until you reach the Howard College Campus, University of KwaZulu-Natal.

2 Options:

Approaching HIV-911 via the Howard College Campus, University of KwaZulu-Natal:

Proceed to the Rick Turner Students Union Building (SU). If you are facing the SU Building looking towards Durban City, walk down the driveway and turn right onto the pathway leading to the Hutments and Drama Department. Pass Hut 11 which is immediately below the SU building. We are below Hut 11, in Hut 10. There is signage from all pathways and there is a huge sign on Hut 10 so you will know you have arrived at the right location!

Approaching HIV-911 via Lamont Road (off Mazisi Kunene Road):

Proceed all the way along Mazisi Kunene Road (old Ridge Road) almost to the main gate of the Howard College Campus, University of KwaZulu-Natal. The last road on the left is Lamont Road, turn left down Lamont Road (it changes name to Princess Alice at the Francois Rd end). Proceed for about 700 metres. Just before the overhead pedestrian bridge is a small driveway gate on the RIGHT. Turn into the driveway gate (see the HIV-911 / HIVAN signage). Please call HIV-911 when you reach the driveway gate in Lamont Road as we will have to let you through the gate. There is no intercom at the gate. Approaching HIV-911 via Princess Alice Avenue (off Francois Road):

If you are approaching HIV-911 from Francois Road, turn into Princess Alice Avenue. Proceed for about 400 metres. The University should be on the hill above you on your left and residences of the University will be on your right hand side. Just before the overhead pedestrian bridge is a small driveway gate on the LEFT. Turn into the driveway gate (see the HIV-911 / HIVAN signage). Please call HIV-911 when you reach the driveway gate in Lamont Road as we will have to let you through the gate.
